Learn the basics of pulp preparation and sheet forming using simple tools that can be found or constructed in the home studio. We will explore ways of incorporating the papermaking technique of pulp painting with collage.
We will sample western methods of sheet forming and make paper with one or more plant fibers. Techniques covered will include: laminating, embedding, embossing and others. We will create paper sheets that may be used for a variety of projects.
Prior experience in papermaking is NOT required.
Cost: $75. Includes basic papermaking materials and supplies.
Deadline for registration: August 15, 2014
Bring: Materials to embed and collage into your handmade paper such as works on paper, found materials botanicals and laser copied photos or writings, etc. (Note: ink-jet color prints do blur and run.) Also bring a box lunch. Beverages will be provided.
